Caridina FAQ
What’s the difference between Caridina and Neocaridina?
Neocaridina are hardy and live in tap water. Caridina need soft, acidic, remineralized RO water and active soil. In return you get rarer colors and patterns.
Can Caridina live in tap water?
Generally no. Most tap water is too hard and too high in TDS. Use RO water remineralized to the GH range above.
Which Caridina is best for beginners?
Tangerine Tigers, then Red Fancy Tigers. Move up to Blue Bolts, Shadow Pandas and the OE lines later.
Can I keep Caridina and Neocaridina together?
Not ideally. They prefer different water, so each does best in its own tank.
Can different Caridina lines share a tank?
Taiwan Bee and Crystal lines can crossbreed. Keep one line per tank to preserve the pattern.
