Poso Rabbit Snails for Sale

Poso rabbit snails (Tylomelania, from Sulawesi) are the only snails we sell: peaceful, shrimp-safe and seriously striking.

Why rabbit snails: Bright bodies, ridged dark spiral shells and a long wrinkled snout. They graze biofilm, soft algae and leftovers, and breed very slowly with live birth, so they won’t overrun your tank.

Our rabbit snails:

🐌 Rabbit snail care at a glance
Water: pH 7.0–8.5 · 76–84°F · GH 6–12 · KH 4–8 (mineral-rich for strong shells)
Tank: 10 gal for 1–2 snails + 2–3 gal per extra · fine substrate, hiding spots, gentle flow · avoid copper
Diet: biofilm, soft algae, decaying plants · add blanched veggies, sinking pellets, the occasional bloodworm
Size: adults reach about 2.5–3 inches

Soft water? A bag of crushed coral in the filter helps raise KH and GH.

With shrimp: Best with Neocaridina (aim for the 76–78°F overlap); not a match for soft-water Caridina tanks. Our Cleanup Crew Bundle includes 2 Orange Poso snails.

Shipping: Ships Monday–Wednesday. Our Live Arrival Guarantee covers snails on any shipping method. Local pickup near Houston.

Rabbit snail FAQ

Are rabbit snails safe with shrimp?
Yes. Poso rabbit snails are peaceful and ignore shrimp, including babies.
Will rabbit snails overpopulate my tank?
No. They breed very slowly and give live birth, unlike pest snails.
Do rabbit snails eat plants?
They prefer biofilm, soft algae and decaying plant matter. Feed blanched veggies or sinking pellets so they stay on cleanup.
Can rabbit snails live in soft water?
Not long term. They need the harder, mineral-rich ranges above for healthy shells.
