Yellow 24K Neocaridina are a rich, near-solid golden yellow, often with a shimmering gold stripe down the back. Hardy, beginner-friendly, and a bright pop against dark substrate or moss.

Yellow 24K Neocaridina (Neocaridina davidi var. “Yellow 24K” / “24K Gold”)

Appearance: Opaque neon-to-deep lemon gold with little to no transparency, and many carry a metallic “goldenback” stripe along the back that glows under aquarium lighting. Females are a bit larger and usually the most vibrant.

Care: Easy. They do well in dechlorinated tap water (pH 6.5–7.8, 68–78°F, GH 6–10, KH 2–6, TDS 150–350). They grow to 1–1.5 inches, live 1–2 years, and spend the day grazing biofilm, detritus, and soft algae.

Breeding: Prolific in stable, planted tanks with plenty of hiding spots and biofilm.
