Coloration & Appearance

  • Temperature: 70–76°F (21–24°C)
  • pH: 6.5–7.5
  • Hardness: Soft to moderate (roughly 5–15 dGH)
• Environment: They thrive in mature, well-cycled, densely planted tanks with gentle filtration, dark substrate, floating plants for cover, and open swimming space. Keep them in groups of at least 6–8 (ideally 10+) to reduce shyness and encourage natural schooling behavior.
• Breeding: They are egg-scatterers that will spawn readily in optimized planted environments when parameters remain consistent and the group is healthy and well-fed.
