Description
Fire Ant Tetra (Hyphessobrycon myrmex)
Appearance: Dominant males show a glowing reddish-orange body with subtle iridescent highlights, at its best in a well-lit planted tank. Adults reach 1–1.5 inches.
Care: Easy. Keep 6 or more in at least 10 gallons (20+ is ideal for a proper school) with plants, open swimming space, and clean, well-filtered water (pH 6.5–7.5, 76–82°F). They stay mid-to-upper water, leave plants alone, and eat flakes, micro pellets, and frozen foods.
