Emerald Rasbora / Emerald Dwarf Rasbora (Celestichthys erythromicron)

Appearance: A slender coral-pink to orange body with 12–15 crisp emerald-to-turquoise vertical bars and a dark spot near the tail. Color is richest in dim, well-planted tanks. Males are brighter with orange-red fins; females are a bit larger and fuller.

Care: Intermediate. Keep them in groups of 6 or more in a mature, densely planted tank with fine-leaved plants, moss, and floating cover (pH 7.0–8.0, 68–76°F). They reach 0.75–1.2 inches, live 3–5 years, and are peaceful with shrimp, snails, and other small fish.

Breeding: Egg-scatterers that spawn in fine plants or moss. Adults don’t guard eggs, so raise fry separately or in a heavily planted tank.
