Pure Red Line Caridina (Caridina cantonensis var. “Pure Red Line” / “PRL”)

Appearance: Thick, opaque white sections and clean white legs set against deep, saturated red markings, with sharp pattern separation and no black mottling. They’re bred for purity and outshine standard Crystal Red Shrimp in opacity and consistency. Females are slightly larger and the most vivid.

Care: Intermediate. They need stable, soft, acidic water and don’t like swings. See the Care at a glance box above for our exact parameters (RO water with a GH-only remineralizer over active soil). They grow to 1–1.5 inches, live 1.5–2 years, and graze biofilm and detritus constantly.

Breeding: They breed steadily in mature, stable tanks with plants, cholla, or shrimp tubes for cover.
