BKK Shadow Panda (Caridina cf. cantonensis var. “Shadow Panda”)
Appearance: Opaque, full-body deep coloring from head to tail fan, legs, and antennae, with the signature translucent blue-black “shadow” hue and a glossy sheen. Females are slightly larger and the most consistent.
Care: Intermediate. They need stable, soft, acidic water and don’t like swings. See the Care at a glance box above for our exact parameters (RO water with a GH-only remineralizer over active soil). They grow to 1–1.5 inches, live 1.5–2 years, and are a little bolder than many Caridina.
Breeding: Prolific in optimized tanks when parameters stay consistent and disturbances are low.
