Natural Cholla Wood (6-inch)

What it does: As it slowly breaks down, cholla releases tannins that lower pH and grows biofilm, a natural food for shrimp and fry. The honeycombed structure gives hiding spots and grip for shrimp, hermit crabs, and small reptiles, and it’s soft enough for small chewers.

How to use: Cholla floats at first. Boil 2–3 hours or soak 24–48 hours to sink it and reduce early tannin tint.

What you’ll receive: One piece of sustainably sourced cholla, about 6 inches long and 0.75–1.25 inches across. Chemical-, pesticide-, and fertilizer-free.
