Yellow Poso Rabbit Snails have bright golden-yellow bodies under tall, ridged dark spiral shells. Peaceful grazers that are great with shrimp in mature, mineral-rich planted tanks.

Description

Yellow Poso Rabbit Snail (Sulawesi rabbit snail)

Appearance: A golden-to-vivid yellow body and foot against a ridged, dark brown-to-black spiral shell, with the long wrinkled snout that earns the “rabbit” name. Adults reach about 2.5–3 inches.

Care: Best in an established, stable tank with fine substrate, hiding spots, and gentle flow (76–84°F, pH 7.0–8.5, GH 6–12, KH 4–8). They need mineral-rich water for strong shells, so add calcium if needed, and avoid copper medications. Plan on 10 gallons for 1–2 snails plus 2–3 gallons for each additional snail.

Diet: Biofilm, soft algae, decaying plants, blanched veggies, sinking pellets, and the occasional bloodworm.

Breeding: They breed very slowly and give live birth, so they won’t overrun your tank.
